This is a film I worked on during my 7th Semester at the "Srishti Institute of Art Design and Technology" in 2019. The film is a commentary on how overworked and employees in the corporate sector are and is heavily influenced by the ‘’salarymen’’ of the world in countries like India and Japan. The protagonist abuses his body with these drugs as he requires them to function within the corporate world, that he dislikes, to maintain a happy facade.
The process of making the film started with the creation of a soundscape as a group of three. The soundscape inspired me to create a visual journey that would start of set in a relatable world and then expand into a journey into the mind of the protagonist. The sound heavily influenced the visuals and inspired me to work with creating fractals to create a psychedelic experience for the viewer.
Through this animation, I wanted to explore the scale of the mind and what could be going on within it. It aims to delve into the mind of an overworked, corporate employee. The protagonist’s world is dull and devoid of color until he consumes his cereal. His cereal is drugged and causes endorphins to be released, which dilates his pupils and causes his mind to go on a psychedelic journey.
All visual aspects are done by me in Blender, Zbrush, and AE. The sound was done using SuperCollider in collaboration with - Dhee Majumder, Akhil Kannan.
